Breaking the Cycle of Hunger: Empowering Women Through Agriculture
In Liberia, rice is not just food—it is survival. Yet, despite its importance, food dependence remains high and rural women bear the heaviest burden. Every day, they struggle to feed their families, often sacrificing their own well-being in the process.
At FOWACE, we believe that empowering women is the key to breaking the cycle of food insecurity. Thats why we have equipped 10 women
`s groups with essential farming tools, high-quality seedlings and hands-on training to help them cultivate their own food.
Now, these women are not just harvesting crops—they are harvesting hope, dignity and independence! By growing their own rice, cassava and groundnuts, they are feeding their families, strengthening their communities, and securing a future free from hunger and dependence.
But this is just the beginning. Together, we can reach more women, plant more seeds of change and build a Liberia where no mother has to choose between feeding her children and her own survival.
